Terre d'Avenir, the foundation diversified!
Bouygues UK and Terre Plurielle help women join the construction industry

Terre Plurielle has launched a programme called Terre d’Avenir, which seeks to support employee’s engagement in education and social inclusion. In the UK, Bouygues has launched the programme in partnership with ‘Women into Construction’.

In partnership with the association “Women into Construction”, which promotes gender equality in building and public works, Bouygues UK and Terre Plurielle recently launched the “Terre d’Avenir” programme in London.

Terre d’Avenir supports individuals looking for sustainable employment. In London, five young women keen to join the construction industry, completed a two-week internship at Bouygues UK, following which they were matched to a mentor selected amongst employees. The mentor is responsible to support and help the young women define their career plan, write their CV and introduce them to their network when relevant. The mentoring will last until the mentee finds employment.

For Stéphanie Pullès, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Bouygues UK, ‘This programme is already a success! It was launched a couple of months ago and already 25% of our candidates have found employment. Following this first experience, we have decided to launch two new Terre d’Avenir programmes in the UK: one in Birmingham later this year, and another in London early 2017‘.

The programme has also been introduced in France, on the construction sites of the future Paris Law Courts and the Nîmes-Montpellier rail bypass (OCVIA).
