The meeting of two worlds: disabled young people and juvenile delinquents
Respect Programme

Sponsors:

Founded in 2007, the Pompey Sports and Education Foundation offers sports activities for young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Portsmouth. Terre Plurielle is financing the programme for the third time in order to set up a pioneering programme aimed at bringing together disabled young people and juvenile delinquents, as an alternative to imprisonment for the young offenders. The impact on the local community is tangible: the crime rate is dropping, and some young people have obtained diplomas qualifying them to work with the disabled.

The school, which now accommodates close to 230 students, needs to be renovated, so Terre Plurielle is helping to paint all the buildings.
