: Animal-assisted therapy to help seniors
'Les Blouses Roses' Association

Sponsors: Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est

The purpose of the association 'Les Blouses Roses' is to entertain patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, through playful, creative or artistic activities. It mainly works with children in hospital and elderly people in nursing homes. The project consists in setting up an animal-assisted therapy project within three nursing homes in the Montpellier region.

Contact with animals can awaken seniors’ reactions to help maintain or improve their cognitive, physical or emotional potential.

Sessions are offered to groups of 10 to 15 residents every other week for one year.

Terre Plurielle helps fund 26 animal-assisted therapy sessions for the residents of three nursing.
